Release date: August 18, 2026
Release version: V25.1-GA
Previous version: Version 84.23.0.123 (V24.3-GA)
Overview
Version 84.24.0.30 introduces new capabilities for the AI Receptionist (MCP server support, Send SMS), global rules for AI call transcription, and expanded SIP trunk settings. This release also includes numerous improvements and bug fixes across extensions, ring groups/queues, messaging channels, auto-provisioning, integrations, and call reports.
New Features
AI Receptionist: MCP Server Support
You can now connect external MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to the Virtual-Call Cloud PBX. This gives the AI receptionist bundled access to external tools, services, and data sources through a single connection — for example, to check an order status or book an appointment during a call.
MCP servers are managed centrally and can then be assigned to individual AI Receptionists:
- Go to AI > AI Receptionist and switch to the MCP Servers tab to create a server (name, description, server type, URL).
- Open the desired AI Receptionist, switch to the Skills tab, and enable the MCP Server tile.
- Add the centrally created MCP server, then click Save and Apply.
AI Receptionist: New Skills
- Send SMS: The AI Receptionist can automatically send an SMS to the caller during a call, e.g. with order confirmations, verification codes, or appointment details.
- MCP Server: The AI Receptionist can access assigned MCP servers during the conversation to retrieve information or perform actions in external systems.
Skill management has also been redesigned: skills can now be sorted by default order or activation status, making individual skills easier to find. Call records (CDR) for AI Receptionist calls now log every MCP tool call, including server name, tool name, execution status, and request/response data.
AI Call Transcription: Global Rules
You can now configure global rules for automatic call transcription by call type (internal, outbound, inbound). For extensions with transcription enabled, calls are automatically transcribed once they match the configured criteria. Configure this under AI > AI Tools > Call Transcription.
A new feature code is also available (path: Call Features > Feature Code > Transcription, default code *09), letting users turn transcription on or off during a call directly via speed dial.
Improvements and Bug Fixes
Extensions & Organization
- When exporting extension and organization data, you can now select the specific data scope instead of always exporting all data.
- Changes to an extension's BLF (Busy Lamp Field) keys now take effect immediately on the associated IP phone.
SIP Trunk
Two new advanced options have been added for visible trunk settings:
- Enable RTP Keep-alive: Automatically sends an RTP comfort-noise packet during inactivity to keep firewall ports open for RTP traffic.
- Use Registered Destination IP for SIP Requests: After successful registration, uses the most recently used IP address for further SIP requests instead of resolving the domain name again. This prevents call failures caused by DNS changes after registration.
Note: This configuration only applies to the visible settings of the trunk assigned to you. Creating, deleting, or changing a trunk's SIP registration remains reserved for Virtual-Call Support.
Ring Groups & Queues
- New global option "Allow forwarding inbound calls to voicemail": Members of a ring group or agents of a queue with extension voicemail enabled can forward inbound calls directly from the call window to their voicemail.
- Resolved an issue where other group members stopped ringing according to the ring strategy if a member had set up call forwarding on their IP phone.
Messaging Channels
Live Chat channels now offer a standalone URL in addition to the embed code, which can be opened directly or included, for example, in emails.
Auto-Provisioning
New option for an emergency caller ID on hot-desking phones, which is transmitted to the responsible emergency call center during an emergency call.
Microsoft Entra ID Integration
Contact synchronization has been optimized and now performs better with large contact volumes.
Call Quality
Fixed poor audio quality on calls over trunks using the G.722 codec.
AI Receptionist
Resolved an issue where the dashboard's AI receptionist call activity report showed higher usage capacity than was actually used.
Voicemail-to-Email
Fixed two issues: with AI voicemail transcription enabled, the transcribed text was missing from the email even though the audio attachment was present; and with the "Show DID Name" option enabled, the email incorrectly displayed the trunk's DID name instead of the actual caller name.
Contacts (LDAP)
Resolved an issue where, after enabling contact synchronization with LDAP integration, an inbound number without an LDAP match was no longer checked against local contacts, causing caller names not to be displayed.
Call Flow
Resolved an issue where copying an existing call flow caused a change to the text-to-speech prompt to incorrectly also affect the original call flow.
Voice Prompts
Fixed an issue where, after uploading an MP3 file as a holiday prompt, the "Prompt" field incorrectly showed "None" instead of the converted WAV file.
CRM Integration
Resolved an issue where, for integration templates using the "Bearer Token" authentication method, the access token could be retrieved but no longer refreshed.
Zendesk Integration
Fixed two issues: after merging a synchronized contact with an existing Zendesk contact, call pop-ups and automatic ticket creation for inbound calls stopped working; and the recording of transcribed calls was attached to the Zendesk ticket twice.
Call Detail Records (CDR)
Resolved an issue where historical CDR records were lost after an update.
Call Reports
Fixed two issues: the "Queue Performance" report showed fewer queue calls than were actually present in the call records; and scheduled reports in PDF format were not sent by email.
API
- New interface to query the time zone list, including feature codes for business hours/holidays and daylight saving time settings.
- New parameters for advanced trunk settings (RTP keep-alive, registered destination IP).
- New parameters for time-based conditions on inbound routes and ring groups.
- New response parameter for a messaging channel's Live Chat URL.
- New parameters for tool details on AI Receptionist calls (MCP tool name, execution status, result).
Best Practices
- After the update, review your BLF key configuration on IP phones, as changes now take effect immediately.
- For trunks in unstable NAT/firewall environments, use the new "Enable RTP Keep-alive" option to prevent dropped connections.
- If you use the Zendesk integration, review existing merged contacts to make sure call pop-ups work correctly again.
