Overview
The Restrict Inbound Calls setting lets you block calls from unknown, anonymous, or specific numbers directly from the Linkus Mobile Client. Use this to reduce unwanted calls and improve security on your mobile extension.
Prerequisites
- Latest version of the Linkus Mobile Client installed.
Step-by-Step Configuration
- Open the Linkus Mobile Client and go to Settings > Security.
- Select Restrict Inbound Calls.
- Choose which types of calls to block (e.g., anonymous callers, specific numbers).
- If blocking specific numbers, add them to the block list.
- Save your changes.
Examples
Example: An employee repeatedly receiving spam calls from an anonymous number enables anonymous call blocking to stop the interruptions.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
- Symptom: Blocked numbers can still reach voicemail.
Cause: This is expected behavior; blocking prevents ringing but may still route to voicemail depending on configuration.
Solution: Ask your administrator about full call rejection at the PBX level if voicemail routing is not desired.
Security Notes
- This setting only affects your own mobile extension, not shared trunk-level call blocking, which must be configured by your administrator.
Best Practices
- Regularly review your block list to remove numbers that are no longer relevant.
