Overview
The Linkus Web Client allows you to send and receive faxes from any browser, without installing any software. Use this when you need quick access to fax functionality from a shared computer or when working remotely.
Prerequisites
- A fax-enabled extension must be assigned to your account by your administrator.
- Access to the Linkus Web Client with a supported browser.
Step-by-Step Configuration
Sending a fax
- Log in to the Linkus Web Client.
- Open the Fax module from the left menu.
- Click New Fax.
- Enter the recipient's fax number and attach the document (PDF, DOC, or image).
- Optionally add a cover page.
- Click Send.
Receiving a fax
- Incoming faxes appear under Fax > Inbox.
- Click an entry to preview it in the browser.
- Use Download to save it as a PDF.
Examples
Example: An employee working from home receives an urgent fax and forwards it by email directly from the browser, without requiring the desktop application.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
- Symptom: The fax module is not visible.
Cause: Your extension is not fax-enabled.
Solution: Ask your administrator to enable fax for your extension. - Symptom: Preview does not load.
Cause: Browser pop-up blocker or unsupported browser.
Solution: Allow pop-ups for the Linkus Web Client domain or use a supported browser.
Best Practices
- Use the Web Client for occasional fax use; the Desktop Client is better suited for frequent, high-volume faxing.
